How to Order Custom Leather Bags with a Debossed Logo

Leather Bags8 min readUpdated 27 Oct 2026

How do you order custom leather bags with a debossed logo?

Fix your quantity, budget and deadline, then choose the bag style and leather grade. Send a clean vector logo, pick blind or foil debossing and request a quote with the grade stated. Approve a pre-production sample, and bulk production runs about 7 to 10 days before packing and dispatch.

Ordering custom leather bags with a debossed logo is how many companies mark their most important gifts: a leadership offsite, a long-service award or a key-client Diwali hamper. A logo pressed into good leather looks quiet and permanent, and it ages with the bag instead of peeling or fading. Leather is less forgiving than fabric, though. The grade of hide, the size of the logo and the depth of the impression all have to be right before bulk production starts.

This guide explains how to order custom leather bags with a debossed logo, step by step, the way corporate, HR and procurement teams order from us as a leather bags manufacturer in Mumbai since 1989.

Why Companies Choose Custom Leather Bags with a Debossed Logo

  • Leadership gifting: a leather messenger or briefcase with a blind-debossed logo suits people who would never carry a printed promotional bag.
  • Key-client and festive gifting: an executive gift set of bag and wallet in a gift box is ready to hand over.
  • Long-service and reward programmes: a deboss is permanent, so the recognition lasts as long as the bag.
  • Private label and retail: brands and distributors sell leather bags under their own name, with a debossed mark and branded lining.
  • Senior delegates at events: a leather portfolio or document folder for speakers and VIP guests.

Step 1: Define the Recipient, Quantity and Budget

Start with who the bag is for. A gift for 25 directors, a reward for 300 long-serving employees and a retail range for a distributor need different leather grades and price points. Write down three numbers: quantity, target price per piece and the date you need stock in hand.

Custom leather bags are priced on the grade of hide, the size of the bag, the hardware and the branding, and the per-piece rate improves at higher quantities. Fixing your budget first tells you which grade is realistic before you fall for a sample you cannot afford in bulk.

Step 2: Choose the Leather Bag Style

Pick a format that matches how the recipient works:

  • Messenger bags: full-grain leather messengers suit daily office use and carry a debossed logo well on the flap.
  • Briefcases: vintage-style office briefcases for banking, legal and senior roles. See also our office bags.
  • Laptop bags and backpacks: leather laptop bags and backpacks for teams that commute with a device. Our laptop bags range covers fabric options too.
  • Totes and crossbody bags: women’s leather office totes and slings for mixed teams.
  • Duffle and weekender bags: buffalo leather weekenders for travel-heavy roles and reward gifting.
  • Gift sets and small leather goods: a bag and wallet set, card holders, passport wallets or a diary cover to complete the kit.

Step 3: Select the Leather Grade

The grade decides how the bag looks, how it ages and how the logo takes:

  • Full-grain leather: the top layer of the hide with its natural surface intact. It takes a debossed logo most cleanly and develops character over time.
  • Top-grain leather: lightly corrected for a more uniform surface, at a lower price than full-grain.
  • Split leather: a lower layer of the hide, more economical, with a less refined surface.
  • PU (vegan) leather: a leather look at a lower price point, and its panels accept debossing too.

Ask for the grade to be written on your quotation. Our quotes state whether the price reflects full-grain, top-grain, split or PU, so you can compare suppliers on the same basis. Because hides vary, material availability is confirmed at the quotation stage.

Step 4: Prepare Your Logo Artwork for Debossing

Debossing presses your logo into the leather with a die made from your artwork, so the artwork has to be clean:

  • Send a vector file (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG).
  • Use a single-colour version of the logo. A blind deboss has no colour at all; the logo is read from its shape and shadow.
  • Avoid very thin lines and very small text, which can close up or blur in the leather grain.
  • Give the logo size you want, in millimetres, and where on the bag it should sit.

If you only have a JPG or PNG, our team can develop production artwork with you. We work only with artwork you supply or develop with us, and do not reproduce third-party trademarks or licensed characters without written authorisation.

Step 5: Choose the Deboss Finish and Logo Placement

Two debossing finishes are available on our leather range:

  • Blind debossing: the logo is pressed in with no colour. Understated, and the most premium-looking finish on full-grain leather.
  • Foil debossing: the impression is filled with foil, so the logo stands out more clearly.

Embossing (a raised logo), metal logo plates, branded lining and woven labels are also available if you want a different look. Common placements are the front flap, the front panel, near the handle or on an interior patch. A single debossed logo on the flap usually looks more refined than branding on several surfaces. Not sure which finish suits your logo? Our guide on Deboss vs Emboss on Leather compares them side by side.

Step 6: Request a Quote with Complete Details

A complete enquiry gets you an accurate costing the first time. Share:

  1. Bag style (or a drawing, sample or photograph)
  2. Quantity
  3. Leather grade: full-grain, top-grain, split or PU
  4. Size, compartments and colour
  5. Deboss finish, logo size and placement
  6. Hardware, zips and lining preferences
  7. Packing: poly bags, gift boxes or dust bags
  8. Delivery city and required-by date

Bags can be built to your drawing, sample or photograph, including size, pattern, compartments and pockets. As a manufacturer rather than a trading house, we quote from our own production floor.

Step 7: Approve the Pre-Production Sample

The sample is where a debossed logo is really judged. Check:

  • Depth and sharpness of the deboss, and whether fine details have held
  • Logo size and position against the proportions of the bag
  • Leather colour, grain and feel against what you were quoted
  • Stitching, edges, hardware and lining
  • Fit of the laptop or documents the bag must carry

Ask for changes now. Bulk production starts only after you sign off the sample, and the sample cost is adjusted against your confirmed order.

Step 8: Bulk Production and Finishing

Once the sample is approved and materials are confirmed, bulk production runs about 7–10 days. Cutting, stitching, debossing and finishing happen in-house at our production unit in the Dharavi cluster, so the logo on the last piece matches the logo on the approved sample.

Step 9: Gift Packing, Dispatch and Delivery

For gifting, custom leather bags can be packed in gift boxes or dust bags and kitted with other items such as a wallet or diary. Standard packing uses poly bags with carton counts and consignee marking. We dispatch from Sion (W), deliver directly across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, arrange transport across Maharashtra and ship pan-India. Phased delivery, with cartons marked by branch or centre, is available for larger programmes.

Tip: ordering for Diwali, year-end or an awards night? Share the event date when you enquire so the schedule, including sampling and transport, is planned backwards from it.

Common Mistakes When Ordering Debossed Leather Bags

  • Not confirming the leather grade: “genuine leather” alone does not tell you whether it is full-grain, top-grain or split.
  • Logo detail that is too fine: thin strokes and small taglines can blur in a deboss. Simplify the mark or increase its size.
  • Expecting colour from a blind deboss: if the logo must be read from a distance, choose foil debossing or a metal plate.
  • Approving from a photo: grain, colour and deboss depth must be checked on a physical sample.
  • Ignoring packaging: a premium bag handed over in a plain poly bag loses its impact.
  • Leaving it too late: allow time for sampling, approvals and transport, not just production days.

Custom Leather Bags: FAQs

The questions corporate buyers ask us before ordering debossed leather bags in bulk.

BAGS2CROWN has no fixed MOQ on custom or OEM leather runs. Quantity decides the slab rate, and the per-piece price improves at higher volumes. Share your quantity and we will confirm the exact costing.

Bulk production takes about 7–10 days after sample approval and material confirmation. Sampling comes before that, so share your event date at enquiry stage and we plan the schedule backwards from it.

Blind debossing presses the logo into the leather with no colour, for a subtle, premium look. Foil debossing fills the impression with foil so the logo is easier to read. Both are done in-house.

Full-grain leather gives the cleanest, most premium deboss. Top-grain is a slightly more economical option, and PU leather panels also take debossing. Your quotation states the exact grade.
